This time last year, I was wandering around Facebook one evening when my friend Lizz was talking about this cute dress she found that a) fit her perfectly even as a tall girl and b) had pockets. A dress with pockets? Clothes that fit a tall girl? While I am not as tall as Lizz (at 5’9″ she’s got a few inches on me), I am always looking for clothes that look cute on us tall girls. And a dress with pockets sounded magical.
She introduced me to Heather, a consultant for a company called LuLaRoe in the Sacramento area. I’d never heard of LLR before, and I generally wasn’t a fan of ordering clothes online that I couldn’t touch or try on, but I felt an instant connection with Heather so I took a chance. Their tagline, “Where Fashion Meets Comfort” should be “Where Clothes Make You Feel Awesome Again”.
Given that I was mad at my closet and basically lived in pajama pants, I was excited to see clothes that were pretty, hip and in my price range. While the cute dresses with the pockets were TOTALLY ADORABLE, I couldn’t see the need for a ton of dresses. I needed to be more practical. It didn’t take long before I had tried all the styles on that LuLaRoe had to offer and settled on my favorites: Leggings and a top called the Irma. The fabric was butter soft and the patterns were fantastic. While I may have started out a little more conservative in my pattern choices of leggings, over the last 12 months I have thrown caution to the wind and embraced my inner wild-child when it comes to my crazy pants.
Then Carly arrived.
I LOST MY DAMN MIND.
I started “cheating” on my regular consultants and would jump into pop-up sales to see what kind of Carly + leggings inventory they had and snap up the cutest patterns I could find. Under the guise of “needing work clothes for the trip I had in October”, I shopped until I dropped. These pictures are from #BlogHerFood16 – aren’t these Carly’s adorable?????
Last week, my friend Alyse mentioned AGAIN that she has been searching in vain for the cassette tape leggings. At midnight that evening, I found them in a pop-up that Heather was hosting and used my credit to ship them to Alyse. She was over the moon!
Although the Halloween collection my throw me back over the edge again . . . . .
